KiKi is 3yr old female ShihTzu that was relinquished to the Vet Clinic where Victoria works. KiKi is current on vaccines, and will be getting bloodwork, spay & teeth cleaning early January 2024 - and will be available for adoption after she heals. She loves sitting on laps, and snuggling. She has lived with other dogs (small & large) and gets along with all, but is a little bossy.
Her adoption fee is $600.
Derrick & Victoria have loved animals their whole lives. Rescuing started early with injured birds & frogs - then fostering kittens, dogs, tortoises & poultry - now venturing into starting Poodle Pup Rescue.

Most experts agree to use the 3 day, 3 week, 3 month rule for the time it takes a pup to adjust to a new home.
Three Days - it generally takes a three day period for your pup to adjust to its new environment. In these first few days, you may be faced with multiple signs of anxiety or nervousness. The pup will likely hide away in a comfortable, dark space and avoid eye contact & petting; or may not want to eat much. If you've ever started a new job, or moved to a new home - you should know this feeling of being in an unfamiliar place, new surroundings, new people, new rules. The first few days the pup trying to figure it all out. Feeding or taking the pup out for a walk could prove to be a challenge during this short period, but it also represents the period in which security settles in. Imagine if you were picked up, locked in a home with strangers - it would take you a few days to figure out where your place is in the home. It is the same for pups. If these days occur without any major incident, it's a sign you are on the right path.
Three Weeks - This period is mandatory for you to establish a bond and trust relationship between your family and your new pup. Use this period for training, even though you might feel that all it needs right now is love & cuddles. It is recommended to use this period to establish house boundaries. The pup will learn house rules, feeding patterns, and potty training. The pup may "test" you during this period, be sure that your rules stay constant.
Three Months - The first three months are crucial in building a long-term relationship based on love and rules between you and your new pup. At three months, most dogs know they are "home". Remember, everything is different for the pup right now. Routines help to make a dog feel safe. Take your time, be patient, and you will have a best friend for life.
We are located in Southern California in the Inland Empire.
While we have our kennel license, we are limited to the number of dogs that we can have at any one time. If you have or know of a dog in need - reach out - if we have room, we will take them, if not, we have other resources that may be able to help.
Our main focus is Standard Poodles, but as you can see from our success stories, on occasion we will help other types of dogs. Derrick & Victoria have a love for senior pets, and when we have room, if there are no Standard Poodles in need - we will go to our local shelter, and pick the oldest dog available (as seniors have a very low adoption rate at shelters).
We have applied for our non-profit status, but have not yet received it. Right now, vet bill, food and other needs are paid for by Victoria & Derrick.
